Hey fellow screen addicts!

If you're still rocking a boring old 16:9 monitor in 2026, what the hell are you doing with your life? Ultra-wide monitors are the gateway drug to proper PC bliss.

One glance at that massive 21:9 (or wider) canvas and you'll never go back. More screen real estate for multitasking, movies that actually fill your vision, and gaming that feels like stepping into another dimension.

Today we're kicking off a series on ultra-wides with the best options under $1000, for me, a slovakian gamer is a bit pricey, but we will see which ones are the best. Prices fluctuate like crazy (check current deals on Amazon, Best Buy, etc.), but as of mid-2026, these bad boys deliver insane value without requiring you to sell a kidney.

And we all know that only one thing is better than slaying a dragon in a game, and thats slaying a dragon on an ultra wide screen! Let's dive in.

1. Dell Alienware AW3425DW (or AW3423DWF) – The QD-OLED King for Most People

This is the one you'll see recommended everywhere for good reason. 34-inch curved QD-OLED panel, 3440x1440 resolution, up to 240Hz refresh rate on the DW model, perfect blacks, insane contrast, and colors that will make you think you are in heaven.

Why is it one of the best: True infinite contrast OLED + lightning response times = buttery gaming and cinematic movies. HDR looks gorgeous.

  • Price range: Often dips to ~$750–$900. Absolute steal for OLED ultrawide performance.

  • Best for: Gamers and movie lovers who want that "holy ****" factor.

  • Watch out for: Text fringing on QD-OLED (minor for most, but some notice it in productivity, atleast thats what most users i have seen said as a negative). Burn-in risk exists like any OLED, but mitigation features are solid now, now only the dragon will burn you if you aren´t careful.

If you game at all, just buy this and thank me later. Your eyes will thank you, and your wallet.

2. ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDN (and similar variants like PG34WCDM)

ASUS bringing the heat with another premium 34-inch OLED contender. Often crowned as one of the best overall ultrawides in 2026 reviews. High refresh rates, excellent build, and that signature ROG gamer aesthetic. It is great, but is it the best?

Highlights: Top-tier panel performance, great motion handling, solid HDR. Price usually hangs right around or under $1000 on sale. Best for competitive gamers.

3. MSI MPG 341CQP X36 – Fresh New QD-OLED Beast

Newer generation panel that's getting rave mentions. Lightning-fast response, stunning visuals, so stunning even i am getting dizzy just by thinking about getting one myself.

Strong Budget/Alternative Picks Under $1000

  • Gigabyte GS34WQC or similar VA/IPS options: Excellent entry point around $300–500.

  • Dell UltraSharp U3425WE: Productivity-focused with great features.

Quick Buying Advice for 2026

Gaming? → Go OLED. Productivity? → IPS with USB hub. Size: 34" sweet spot. Must-haves: 144Hz+, adaptive sync, good curvature.

Ultra-wides will legitimately change how you use your PC. Once you go wide, everything else feels cramped and sad.
